Established in 1982 by Prince Rainier III of Monaco, the Princess Grace Foundation-USA honors the legacy of Princess Grace—Oscar-winning Hollywood icon and beloved Princess of Monaco. Following her tragic passing, her family created the Princess Grace Foundation-USA to reflect her love for her native country and dedication to advancing the arts in the United States. Princess Grace’s advocacy of the art and culture scene in Monaco while also quietly supporting American actors inspire the Foundation’s mission. Today, the Princess Grace Awards uphold this legacy by empowering extraordinary emerging artists, many of whom go on to receive prestigious honors like Academy Awards, Tony Awards, MacArthur Genius Awards, and Pulitzer Prizes, that have shaped the American cultural landscape.
